Academic Visit from Kosovo: International Cooperation in Geography Strengthened through Erasmus+<\/span><\/h2>

The Department of Geography has taken another significant step toward enhancing its international academic collaborations as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments (STA), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferim Gashi, an expert in geography from the University of Prishtina (Kosovo), visited our department.<\/span><\/p>

A Visit Focused on Spatial Planning, GIS, and Thematic Cartography<\/span><\/h3>

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferim Gashi is well known for his expertise in spatial planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and thematic cartography. During the visit, our department’s educational and research infrastructure was thoroughly examined. Specifically, we exchanged information regarding our GIS laboratory, digital map production systems, and spatial analysis capabilities.<\/span><\/p>

Evaluation of Erasmus Mobility and Collaborative Research Opportunities<\/span><\/h3>

Meetings were held to evaluate potential Erasmus+ mobility programs for students and staff between the two universities. Discussions also focused on possible joint project applications among faculty members, co-authored scientific publications, and the organization of thematic seminars and lecture series.<\/span><\/p>

Institutional Visits and High-Level Meetings<\/span><\/h3>

During his visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferim Gashi participated in meetings where structural similarities between institutions, educational policies, and research priorities were discussed. Both sides expressed their mutual goodwill in further developing academic cooperation at the institutional level.<\/span><\/p>

Field Study in Erzurum: On-Site Observation and Academic Reflection<\/span><\/h3>

One of the most remarkable parts of the visit was a field excursion organized to explore Erzurum’s diverse geographical features. Guided by faculty members from the Department of Geography, this field study allowed for the direct observation of Eastern Anatolia’s geomorphological structure, settlement patterns, and environmental risk factors. The excursion also provided a platform for sharing both methodological and pedagogical experiences.<\/span><\/p>

New Horizons in Academic Cooperation<\/span><\/h3>

This distinguished visit marks a significant milestone within the framework of our university’s internationalization strategy. We plan to sign a bilateral cooperation protocol with the University of Prishtina to institutionalize and sustain academic exchange in the long term.<\/span><\/p>

Ziyaret kapsam\u0131nda b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcm\u00fcz\u00fcn e\u011fitim ve ara\u015ft\u0131rma altyap\u0131s\u0131 detayl\u0131 bi\u00e7imde incelendi. \u00d6zellikle CBS laboratuvar\u0131, dijital harita \u00fcretim sistemleri ve mek\u00e2nsal analiz altyap\u0131lar\u0131 hakk\u0131nda bilgi al\u0131\u015fveri\u015finde bulunuldu.

G\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmelerde iki \u00fcniversite aras\u0131nda ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilebilecek Erasmus \u00f6\u011frenci ve personel hareketlili\u011fi programlar\u0131 masaya yat\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131. Ayr\u0131ca, \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyeleri aras\u0131nda ortak proje ba\u015fvurular\u0131, bilimsel yay\u0131n \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 ve tematik alanlarda d\u00fczenlenebilecek seminer-seri ders organizasyonlar\u0131 \u00fczerine fikir al\u0131\u015fveri\u015finde bulunuldu.

Dr. Ferim Gashi, ziyaret kapsam\u0131nda g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmelerde bulunarak kurumlar aras\u0131 yap\u0131sal benzerlikler, e\u011fitim politikalar\u0131 ve ara\u015ft\u0131rma \u00f6ncelikleri \u00fczerine bilgi payla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirildi. Taraflar, akademik i\u015f birliklerinin kurumsal d\u00fczeyde geli\u015ftirilmesi konusunda kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131kl\u0131 iyi niyetlerini dile getirdi.

Ziyaretin en dikkat \u00e7ekici b\u00f6l\u00fcmlerinden biri ise Erzurum\u2019un farkl\u0131 co\u011frafi \u00f6zelliklerini tan\u0131ma amac\u0131yla d\u00fczenlenen arazi gezisi oldu. Cor\u011fafya B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyelerinin rehberli\u011finde ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilen bu saha \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131nda, Do\u011fu Anadolu\u2019nun jeomorfolojik yap\u0131s\u0131, yerle\u015fim \u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcleri ve \u00e7evresel risk fakt\u00f6rleri yerinde g\u00f6zlemlendi. Saha uygulamalar\u0131 \u00fczerinden hem metodolojik hem de pedagojik deneyim payla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 sa\u011fland\u0131.

Bu nitelikli ziyaret, \u00fcniversitemizin uluslararas\u0131la\u015fma vizyonu \u00e7er\u00e7evesinde at\u0131lan \u00f6nemli bir ad\u0131m\u0131 temsil etmektedir. \u00dcniversitemiz ile University of Prishtina aras\u0131nda gelecekte imzalanacak ikili i\u015f birli\u011fi protokol\u00fc ile akademik etkile\u015fimin kal\u0131c\u0131 ve s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclebilir hale getirilmesi hedeflenmektedir.
