ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY 2022-2023 SPRING SEMESTER EDUCATION PLANNING ANNOUNCED

Due to the effects of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake disaster across the country, Rector Prof.Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI and Atatürk University Senate, came together under the chairmanship of Ömer Çomaklı, announcing the senate decision on the re-negotiated 2022-2023 Spring Semester education planning.

The following statements were included in the decision taken by the University Senate:

Based on the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 17.02.2023, in the spring semester of 2022-2023, which was started by distance education, to be valid as of 03.04.2023;

Not applying the restriction that is stated in the 6th article of the "Procedures and Principles Regarding Distance Education in Higher Education Institutions", which states that a maximum of 30% of the courses in a semester can be given via distance education, according to ECTS credits,

With the distance education currently being implemented, it is possible to provide face-to-face education in classes to students who wish, without the condition of attendance, to decide which courses will be carried out as hybrid education through distance education by the unit boards, and to announce the decisions to be made by the units to the students through the unit web pages and as an OBS message,

Conducting Common Compulsory Courses (OZD) through distance education,

According to the decision to be taken by the unit committees, the applications of the courses that require practice can be assigned to homework, projects, etc. It can be done face to face or in the spring term,

Faculty of Medicine 4th, 5th and 6th grades, Faculty of Dentistry 4th and 5th grades, Veterinary Faculty 5th grade, Faculty of Pharmacy 5th Grade, to conduct the clinical practices of the 4th grade students of the Faculty of Nursing and the 4th grade students of the "Midwifery" program of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the 2nd grade students of the Vocational School of Health Services, and the Teaching Practice course of the Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Faculty of Theology and Sports Sciences Faculties through face-to-face education,

Conducting the courses to be conducted via distance education within the framework of the “2022-2023 Spring Semester Distance Education Practice Principles”,

Within the scope of the Framework Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education, internship and vocational training in business, etc. the continuation of the courses that require practice in their current form,

Students who continue their education in another higher education institution as special students continue their education in the same way,

The mid-term exams in the spring semester (except for the programs that include practical training for which special student entitlement is granted) will be held online using distance education methods, based on the principle of "transparency and auditability",

In the evaluations to be made, open-ended or multiple choice online exams, assignments, online quizzes, projects, Learning Management System (LMS) activities, LMS usage analytics and similar applications can be used,

Determining when and how exams such as single course, thesis monitoring, proficiency exam will be held by the unit committees,

Re-evaluating and deciding how the final exams will be held in the future,

After the discussions regarding the proposal of the Registrar's Office to hold the Open and Distance Education Faculty 2022-2023 academic year spring semester mid-term exam (except for prisons) online (online) between 11-18 April 2023,

It has been decided to make the necessary planning in line with the new decisions to be taken in the future by the Council of Higher Education.
