A VISIT BY UZBEK SCHOLARS TO RECTOR ÇOMAKLI

Foreign visits by the rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, continue to yield positive results. These visits were undertaken in pursuit of the rector's objective of establishing the university as a global institution, in line with his internationalization strategy.

Inter-institutional collaborations commenced in this context subsequent to Rector Çomaklı's October visit to Uzbekistan, the ancestral homeland of the Turks, a nation that holds immense historical and cultural significance for Turkey.

A specialist physician from the Oncology and Radiology Scientific Application Research Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan traveled to Erzurum in accordance with protocols signed with the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. The purpose of his visit was to receive a 45-day training program at Atatürk University Research Hospital, which specialized in the fields of radiation oncology and nuclear medicine. Makhamadjon Yarmatov and a Tashkent Chest Diseases Center specialist physician. Shamsiddin Hazratov and Rector Çomaklı convened.

While Yarmatov and Hazratov persist in their investigations at the Research Hospital, they paid Çomaklı a visit at his office and provided him with updates regarding their works. The guests expressed satisfaction with the practical outcomes of their scientific research and deemed Atatürk University to be on par with universities worldwide in technological infrastructure and facilities. They further expressed gratitude to him for furnishing them with an appropriate working environment and granting them access to all scientific facilities on campus.

Rector omaklı conveyed his contentment with the visit and underscored the enduring closeness of their ties with Uzbekistan, an old ally and sibling nation. He further predicted that the bilateral ties would strengthen through the establishment of diverse cooperation initiatives and agreements.

Rector Çomaklı asserted that the bilateral relations between the Turkish people and universities in Uzbekistan have evolved into collaborations in the domains of tourism, education, and economy, stemming from the Turkish world's historical, geographical, and cultural legacies. "We are fully prepared to further enhance the cooperation prospects between Atatürk University and the institutions and universities in Uzbekistan." Our university has reached a level of R&D infrastructure and apparatus capability that satisfies all requirements. "On this occasion, we welcome researchers from all over the world to our university," he finished his remarks.
