Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures

ASSOCIATED PROFESSOR MAYRAMGÜL DIYKANBAY GAVE A CONFERENCE THEMED “CENGIZ AYTMATOV IN THE BUILDING OF HUMANISTIC VALUES”.

In the talk program which was held at 19:00 on 27 April 2019 by Erzurum Branch of Turkish Hearts, Associated Professor Mayramgül Dıykanbay who is a member of Faculty of Literature,the department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature gave a conference themed “Cengiz Aytmatov In The Building of Humanistic Values”. Dıykanbay told Cengiz Aytmatov’s life, childhood and works. In addition, she informed about Törökul Aytmatov,the writer’s father, who fell a victim to Stalin manslaughter, his nationalist friends, the secret grave where they were buried in company with the photographs. At the end of the talk, the Kirghiz students who have come to various departments of Atatürk University with the aim of studying through Orhun Exchange Program made a program themed “Let’s Read Aytmatov”. The students read the summaries of some of the writer’s works in accompany with the movies. Lastly, the students vocalized “Longing for Lake Isık” which is the writer’s only poem. At the end of the program, a certificate of participation was presented to Dıykanbay.
