PUBLIC RELATIONS PRACTICE WORKSHOP

The main aim of the Public Relations Practice Workshop is to create a workshop that will enable the students to carry out studies in which they will be able to put their theoretical knowledge into practice In this context, the information on the duties and working areas of the sub-units of the Public Relations Practice Workshop are as follows:

The Public Relations Practice Workshop consists of  three units. These units ;

1. Event Management Unit

2. Social Responsibility Unit

3. Digital Media Management Unit

The duties and working areas of the Public Relations  Practice Workshop;

To enable the students to carry out studies in which they will be able to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.

To enable the students to prepare projects for the national and international competitions.

To provide the students with experience in the event management.

To ensure that the students prepare social responsibility projects.

To provide the students with experience in the digital media management.

To conduct researches for the determination of corporate communication strategies and targets, to prepare proposals and to present them to the senior management within the framework of the vision and mission of the department.

To plan activities related to the celebrations of special days and events within the framework of events and organizations.

To form the communication plan of the department in line with the determined objectives, strategies and targets; to anticipate the possible developments in the process; to create and direct alternative scenarios.

To prepare a press release in every announceable event and development related to the department and to ensure that it is distributed to the related services of the media organizations.

To carry out studies intended for the inter-unit relations, cooperation and coordination in order to ensure the consistent and holistic implementation of public relations activities throughout the department.

To make preparations for all kinds of events, meetings and organizations arranged by the department.

To follow, report and archive the news of the Department published in the common and local periodicals, the television channels, the web sites and the social media.

To organize social and cultural activities on a departmental basis and to develop proposals and projects related to the subject.

To plan and conduct the communication processes in order to establish long-term and permanent relations with the internal and external stakeholders.

To carry out all kinds of risk management and crisis management processes regarding the department, to take measures and to take action in case of a problem.

To organize activities to bring the students together with the sector representatives and the field experts.

To provide support for the students' graduation projects.

To carry out joint studies with the faculty and the other practice units operating within the department.

To develop joint projects with the student clubs.

To prepare, archive and send the unit activity reports to the advisory board for  the review.

To be in contact with the public relations workshops of the other universities in the scope of the activities to be held.

1- The duties and responsibilities of the Event  Management Unit Coordinator are as follows:

To prepare the annual activity and organization plan of the department and submit it for  the approval of the General Coordinator.

To carry out all activities to be organized by the Department in cooperation and coordination with the relevant units.

To ensure that all activities to be conducted within the department are reported.

To provide support for the activities planned by student clubs.

To plan, conduct and supervise the election process of the students to be assigned within the unit.

To provide support to the students in the activities to be realized within the scope of the department courses.

2- The duties and  responsibilities of the Social Responsibility Unit Coordinator are as follows:

To plan the annual social responsibility campaign and submit it for the approval of  the General Coordinator.

To carry out the social responsibility projects to be organized by the department in cooperation and coordination with the related units.

To ensure the reporting of social responsibility campaigns to be conducted within the department.

To plan, conduct and supervise the election process of the students to be assigned within the unit.

To cooperate and communicate with the student clubs and to support the social responsibility activities.

To guide students in the development of the social responsibility projects.

To provide support to the students in the social responsibility projects to be realized within the scope of the department courses.

3-The duties and  responsibilities of Digital Media Management Unit Coordinator are as follows:

To undertake the digital media management of Public Relations Practice Workshop.

To promote the department and its activities in the digital environment.

To increase the digital awareness levels of the instructors and the students.

To plan, conduct and supervise the election process of the students to be assigned within the unit.

To provide support to the students in digital media management studies that will be carried out by the students within the scope of the department courses
