4 What is the Pathway for Appointing a Joint Consultant?
In cases where the nature of the thesis study requires more than one thesis supervisor, the second thesis supervisor to be appointed with the proposal of the head of the relevant department / major arts department may be a person with at least a doctorate degree from another higher education institution in Turkey or abroad (see Application Principles. item: 9/2). The proposal of the department is decided by the institute board of directors.
5 What Should Be Done for Consultation Change?
The department cover letter is sent to the institute together with the advisor and / or student petition and the advisor change form. It is made by the decision of the institute board of directors.

6 When and When Can a Registration Freeze Request Be Made?
Applications to freeze registration are made within the first 10 working days of the semester on condition that the course registration is made (see Ataturk University Graduate Education Regulation, article: 19).

8 In Which Cases Is Deregistration Process Performed In Doctoral Education?
Student;
A. Failure to successfully complete the courses taken within the maximum period of time
Does not deliver or fail his seminar until the deadline
C. Does not take the proficiency exam by the end of the 5th semester at the latest (if the student does not take the proficiency exam within the time period, it will be considered unsuccessful) and / or fails in the 5th semester and does not take the proficiency exam in the 6th semester and / or fails
D. Fail the proficiency exam twice in a row
E. Failure to report TIK twice consecutively or three times at intervals and / or fail TIK reports

9 When is the Completion of the Doctoral Courses and the Deadline for the Seminar?
Doctoral courses must be completed at the end of the 4th semester, and the seminar must be submitted before the qualifying exam.
10 What is the status of those who do not complete their courses within the maximum time, according to the regulation?
Students who cannot complete their courses at the end of the 4th semester are deleted from their registrations.
11 When Should the Seminar Study Be Delivered?
Before the proficiency exam, the seminar must be successfully delivered to the institute.
What is the Minimum Loan Amount Required During the Course Period?
The minimum number of credits to be taken is 21.
13 What Are The Way To Follow The Delivery Of The Seminar And The Forms To Fill In?
The seminar work is uploaded to ÖBS by the student. The seminar work approved by the advisor is sent to the institute along with the relevant forms with a department cover letter. The relevant form can be accessed from the link below and from the Institute web page forms section.

15 What are the Application Requirements for the Proficiency Exam, the path to be followed and the forms to be filled in?
In order for the candidate to take the proficiency exam, he must have successfully completed the minimum course load and submitted his seminar. As of 2021, the Proficiency Exam will be held on OBS.

20 When Can a Thesis Subject Proposal Be Given?
It is given after the qualifying exam is successfully completed and the thesis monitoring committee is formed.
21 How is the Thesis Monitoring Committee (TİK) formed?
The thesis monitoring committee (TIK) is formed within one month for those who pass the qualifying exam, with the recommendation of the department and the approval of the institute management board (see UE Article 21 (1).

The student determines the subject of the thesis with the advisor, makes a presentation to the Thesis Monitoring Committee (TIK), and sends the presentation record to the institute along with the form below.

23 During Which Periods Are TIK Reports Delivered?
Thesis monitoring committee reports are submitted twice a year (January-June, July-December).

24.When the Maximum Number of TIK is not given, the student is deregistered?
In cases where the thesis monitoring committee reports are not submitted twice or three times in a row, or these reports are evaluated as unsuccessful, the student is dismissed from the institute.
25 At Least How Many TIKs Should A Student To Submit Thesis?
After the thesis proposal is accepted, at least 3 successful thesis monitoring committee reports must be prepared.
26How many ECTS should a student have to submit a thesis?
The student must have a total of 240 ECTS in order to submit a thesis.
What is the Path to Follow in the Thesis Defense Initial Stage?
Before the thesis defense, the following forms are filled and sent to the institute through the main discipline. After the decision of the institute board of directors, the student is taken to the thesis defense on the determined date.

31 What are the Documents to be Submitted by the Student to the Institute for Doctorate Degree Processes?
1. The English summary of the thesis (Abstract) must be checked by the thesis summary control unit at the School of Foreign Languages.
2. The thesis must be submitted to the institute to check its compliance with the rules of spelling before printing.
3. Thesis cover is obtained from the institute.
4.Thesis Data Entry Form is produced from YÖK National Thesis Center and signed, 2 printouts are delivered to the institute.

5. After the defense, the thesis submission form must be signed by the jury members.
