Prof. Dr. Atilla Keskin Prof. Dr. Atilla Keskin  Information Card

Atilla KESKIN is a professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Ataturk University. He received his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctor’s degrees at Ataturk University. Dr. Keskin studied Econometrics in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics at Ohio State University from 2007 to 2008. As a member of the faculty, he has taught Introduction to Econometrics, Numerical Methods, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Introduction to Economics, and Statistics for Economist at Ataturk University and Erzurum Technical University.
In addition to his teaching and extension activities, Professor Keskin has conducted a major research titled “Spatial Equilibrium Analysis of Regional Structural Change in Turkey’s Cattle Industry”. He is the author or co-author of over 50 national and international journal articles, edited books, book chapters, made oral and poster presentations. In addition, he took part in 20 scientific and social projects as consultant, researcher and project leader financed by national and international organizations.
From 2011 to 2014, he served as the Deputy Director at Atatürk University Continuous Education Centre. He chaired the board of directors of ERDEM Consultancy and Lab. Services Inc. (2011-2014). He worked as Project Development and Coordination Office Coordinator in 2012-2016, Head of the Department of Agricultural Policy and Extension, Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordinator, Graduate Student Coordinator and Rector Consultant in 2016-2020. Keskin is a member of Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) Institutional External Evaluation Commission and Rectorate Strategic Plan Committee. Currently, He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors in Teknokent Inc. Company. Professor Atilla KESKİN was appointed as Vice Rector on August 16, 2020.
His hobbies include skiing, photography, acting in theatre plays, hiking and trekking. Keskin lives in Erzurum, Turkey, with his wife and two children.

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Bayrakçeken Prof. Dr. Ayşe Bayrakçeken Information Card

In 2002, she started working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Middle East Technical University. She completed her master's degree in 2004 and doctorate degree in 2008 at Middle East Technical University Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering. In 2006, she worked as a visiting fellow at the University of Connecticut in the United States of America. She worked as a post-doctoral Researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Koç University in 2009. She worked as Assistant Professor at Atatürk University Faculty of Engineering between 2009 and 2011. She was appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Atatürk University Faculty of Engineering in 2014 and she became Professor in the same department in 2020. She worked as Vice Head of Department between 2014 and 2016, Vice Director of DAYTAM between 2016 and 2017, and Director of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Research and Application Center between 2016 and 2020. She has been a member of the Turkish Catalysis Society since 2006, and Hydrogen Technologies Association since 2015. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Bayrakçeken has nearly 200 national and international publications, papers and posters published so far. She has worked as an international book editor and has written parts in books. She worked as a coordinator in 17 projects and as a Researcher in 14 projects. She was awarded METU Thesis of the Year Award in 2008, Outstanding Young Scientist Award from Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA-GEBIP) in 2017 and METU Research Incentive Award of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Parlar Research and Education Foundation in 2018.

After graduating from Ataturk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, in the Department of Economics in 1990, he started to work as a research assistant in Economic Theory in the same faculty. He completed his master’s degree in 1992 at Ataturk University Graduate School of Social Sciences in the Department of Economic Theory and then, in 1996 he continued his education at Wichita State University in Kansas in the United States of America. He completed his doctorate in Economic Theory at Ataturk University, Graduate School of Social Sciences in 1999, and he became associate professor in the Department of Economics in 2005 and was appointed as professor in 2011. In addition to working in national and international projects, he published national and international articles, proceedings, books and book chapters. He still works as a faculty member at Ataturk University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in the Department of Econometrics.

Mustafa SÖZBİLİR received his undergraduate degree from Ataturk University Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Chemistry Teacher Training Program in 1994. He started to work as a research assistant in Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education in the same year. He received his master's degree in Chemistry Education from the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences in Atatürk University in1997. He started his doctorate education at the Department of Educational Studies in the University of York, England under a PhD scholarship provided by Ataturk University. He completed his doctorate education in 2001 with a thesis in Chemistry Education. Dr. SÖZBİLİR was appointed as an assistant professor in 2002, associate professor in 2008 and a full professor in 2013 in the field of chemistry education in the Department of Chemistry Education in Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education in Atatürk University. He is the author or coauthor of over 250 national and international journal articles, edited books, book chapters, oral and poster presentations. In addition, he took part in 15 research projects as researcher and project leader financed by national and international organizations. He acts as an editorial board member and reviewer in several scientific journals. He is a member of national and international non-governmental scientific organizations in the field of science and chemistry education and he has also served as the administrative board member and chair in these organizations. Dr. SÖZBİLİR, is among the founding members and vice chair of Turkish Science Education and Research Association (SERA) (2010-2012), administrative board member of Turkish Chemical Society (2014-2016), and a titular member of the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry - www.iupac.org) Committee on Chemistry Education (CCE) (2008-2015) and chaired the committee for the term of 2016-2017. He still serves as a national representative of Turkey in the IUPAC CCE.He is appointed as the Coordinator for Graduate Schools in Atatürk University in 2019. He worked in various positions such as Director of Graduate School of Educational Sciences (2016-2020), Coordinator of Mevlana Exchange Program (2015-2016), Deputy Director of Continuing Education Research and Application Center (2012-2014) at Ataturk University.Prof. Dr. Mustafa SÖZBİLİR was appointed as Vice Rector on August 16, 2020.

Prof. Dr. Turgut Göğebakan  Prof. Dr. Turgut Göğebakan  Information Card

Turgut Göğebakan was born in Erzurum. He completed his undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies at Erzurum Atatürk University. Being competent in German Language and Literature, Gögebakan worked as a scholar of the Austrian Academy of Sciences between 2001-2002 on the project "Historical Novel" in the Germanistics Department of the University of Innsbruck. He worked as a visiting professor at the University of Hamburg between 2005/2008. Participating in a number of scientific events held in German speaking countries, he served as the education attaché responsible for the Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate states within the T.C. Consulate General of Mainz between 2016/2021. He has many publications on historical novels, history-literature, and fiction and reality relationship. He is currently working at the department of German Language and Literature of the Faculty of Letters. He also has many works on Turkish Literature. He is married and has two children.
