Our goal in the Department of Performing Arts is to educate and train actors, dramatists and stage designers (costume, settings, lighting, special effects, interior design, etc…) who will meet the quality personnel need in Turkiye in an art discipline such as dramaturgy and histrionics where theoretical studies are as important as experimental and applied studies. There are 13 academic personnel at the Department; one Professor, three Dr. Teaching Member, three Lecturers and six Research Assistants.
The Department of Performing Arts is divided into three undergraduate art disciplines: Drama Writing, Acting and Stage Design. Students of each art discipline take common classes such as The History of Theatre, Play Analysis, The History of Turkish Theater and Stage Application as well as sub-discipline courses specific to their respected disciplines.
