CHANGE OF ASSIGNMENT AT THE INSTITUTE OF TURKISH STUDIES
We extend our congratulations to Prof. Dr. Süleyman Çiğdem, Director of the Institute of Turkish Studies, for his appointment as Dean of the Faculty of Letters, and to Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Baydemir for his appointment as Director of the Institute. We wish them the best of luck in their new roles. We are optimistic that this significant shift in responsibilities will be advantageous to our university and institute.
Prof. Dr. Hüseyin BAYDEMİR,
In 1972, he was born in İspir. He completed his primary education in the Pazaryolu district and his secondary education in Erzurum. In 1994, he completed his studies at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Atatürk University. He achieved his master's degree in 1998 by composing a thesis titled "Text/Analysis of the Epic of Rustem Khan" from the Uzbekistan subject. In 2004, he completed his doctoral studies with a thesis entitled "Analysis/Text of Uzbek Folk Tales." In 2006, he was designated as an assistant professor. He was appointed to the associate professorship in 2012 after passing the associate professorship exam in the field of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures. In 2017, he was awarded a professorship. Between 1994 and 2000, he instructed students at educational institutions that were associated with the Ministry of National Education. Since 2000, he has been employed in the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures at the Faculty of Letters at Atatürk University. His areas of expertise include the Uzbek dialect, contemporary Uzbek literature, and Uzbek folklore. He is married and has two children.
