American Culture and Literature

History

The Department of American Culture and Literature is a significant discipline in the context of language, literature and culture, which has taken its place in universities in various world countries and in our country at undergraduate and graduate levels and at all stages of academic and social life. With itsstructure which highlights international scientific cooperation and its strongcorporate identity, the Department of American Culture and Literature, was founded in 2016 by YÖK (Higher Education Council) within the scope of Atatürk University, Faculty of Letters on Prof. Dr. Ahmet BEŞE’s initiative. The first faculty member of the department, Dr. Deniz ARAS was appointed as Assistant Professor in 2018. The Department of American Culture and Literature, with its staff consisting of one professor, one associate professor, two assistant professors and 2 research assistants, aims to begin education by recruiting students in the 2021-2022 academic year.
