REGIONAL RECTORS GATHERED WITH CAREER FAIR AGENDA
Eastern Anatolia Career Fair (DAKAF’20) preparation process and business plan evaluation meeting, which will be held on March 6-7, 2020, hosted by Atatürk University, was held in the Blue Hall of Atatürk University Cultural Center with the participation of the rectors and executives of the regional universities. Member of the Board of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Muammer Yaylalı, rector of Atatürk University Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, rector of Erzurum Technical University Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, rector of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University Prof. Dr. Abdulhalık Karabulut, rector of Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Prof. Dr. Akın Levent, rector of Ardahan University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Biber, rector of Artvin Çoruh University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Tilki, rector of Kars Kafkas University. Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Kapu, rector of Munzur University Prof. Dr. Ubeyde İpek, rector of Batman University Prof. Dr. Aydın Durmuş, rector of Iğdır University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı Alma, vice rector of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Prof. Dr. Murat Kayri, vice rector of Muş Alparslan University Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ and many academicians from the universities attended the meeting.
Public institutions, private sector organizations, trade association, universities and non-governmental organisations will take part in Eastern Anatolia Career Fair to be organized under the auspices of the Presidency and under the coordination of the Human Resources Office and hosted by Atatürk University, in partnership with regional universities. At the opening of the meeting, the rector of Atatürk University Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said: "Launched last year with the theme of Talent Everywhere, Regional Career Fairs were organized in cooperation with 87 universities in 8 different regions and more than 70,000 young people met more than 1300 employers. For the region and our city, I attach much importance to Easter Anatolia Development Fair which will be held this year at the Secretariat of the Career Center and ATA Teknokent of our university with the cooperation of 11 regional universities."
Rector Çomaklı expressed his great pride in hosting the fair, adding that the fair would offer university youth equal opportunities for employment, help them to activate their career centers and to strengthen their relations with employers. It will also provide added value, providing the talented undergraduates and graduates to have occupations in public institutions and enhancing their awareness of the processes of KOBIs' human resources and talent acquisition.
Director of Career Planning and Alumni Monitoring Research and Application Center Prof. Dr. Süleyman Toy provided technical information to the participants about the business plan and preparations for the Eastern Anatolia Career Fair.
Rector Çomaklı: " Let's Combine Our Research & Development Infrastructures"
The Protocol on the Integration of Research and Development Infrastructures recently signed between Atatürk University and Erzurum Technical University (ETU) was another topic discussed at the meeting.
Rector Çomaklı made a brief statement to the rectors of the region stating that the protocol signed with ETU covers the process of combining the R & D infrastructure systems of the two universities, presenting them to organizations such as TUSAŞ, TÜBİTAK and ASELSAN preparing joint projects. Rector Çomaklı also emphasized the importance of the cooperation of the regional universities with the involvement of the process.
Then the rector of Erzurum Technical University Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak made a presentation about the process of joining infrastructure systems. The meeting ended after the collective photo shoot.
