CEFR TRAINING ORGANIZED BY ÖSYM,
HOSTED BY ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY
Atatürk University hosted the Electronic English Proficiency Exam (e-TEP) training program, which was organized by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) Foreign Language Exams Department and conducted within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The expert educators and participants from a variety of institutions were highly interested in the training, which took place from June 12-14.
Dr. Nida Kırömeroğlu, Head of the ÖSYM Foreign Language Exams Department, Vice Rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Bülent Çavuşoğlu, International Language Exams Coordinator Lecturer Cengizhan Akdağ, and academicians and representatives from various universities attended the training meeting, which was organized by the Atatürk University International Language Exams Coordination Office.
The CEFR training was designed as a three-day intensive program to meet the unique requirements of ÖSYM. It was organized to train expert trainers who will participate in the question preparation process for the exam and assess reading and listening skills within the Electronic English Proficiency Exam (e-TEP), a new exam format. Participants were officially assigned through their institutions, despite the fact that the training procedure was conducted under a confidentiality agreement.
In order to acquire this competency, candidates who participated in the training will be permitted to participate in the evaluation procedures and will be required to complete a one-day standardization study in Ankara following the CEFR training. Evaluators who successfully complete this procedure will have the ability to generate scores online. Additionally, participants who wish to serve as question writers or examiners will be required to attend specialized training sessions that will be conducted at the headquarters of ÖSYM in Ankara in the future.
