PEDAGOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION SUPPORT FROM ÖGEM
(Photo-Video) Continuing its efforts to increase the quality and efficiency in teaching, Atatürk University conducts various activities through the Teaching and Learning Development Application and Research Center (ÖGEM). Organizing charettes and workshops on the current pedagogical approaches and educational technologies in various departments of the university during the holiday period in which education is interrupted, ÖGEM is only in the interim period has provided pedagogical and technological education support to the faculty members of , Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Architecture and Design, the Faculty of Science and School of Foreign Languages with 12 different activities. ÖGEM, which realized the feedback activity in raising awareness of learning and teaching process, which is one of these educational supports, hosted the Rector of Atatürk University Prof.Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.Rector Çomaklı, who attended the event held at the Faculty of Tourism Application Hotel, received information from the authorities about the activities by examining the trainings given to the faculty members. “ÖGEM Aims to Improve Teaching and Learning Culture” Rector Çomaklı, who watched the applied trainings with interest at the event, stated that the applied trainings were very efficient for both academicians and students and said that such trainings are of great importance for the transfer of information to the students. Rector Çomaklı said that “Our principle as Atatürk University; to be sensitive to institutional goals and priorities and to ensure the cooperation of faculty members and academic units under the guidance of learning goals ”and stated that the Teaching and Learning Development Application and Research Center, which operates in this context, aims to improve the teaching and learning culture in accordance with the requirements of the age. Stating that ÖGEM encourages inclusive, student-centered, pedagogical approaches based on research results.Prof. Dr. Çomaklı stated that through the activities to be carried out within the center, in line with the national and international scientific understanding, the faculty members are supported in improving, restructuring and updating themselves in educational process. “452 Faculty Members Participated in the Activities During the Semester Break” ÖGEM Director Prof. Dr. Yüksel Göktaş said that 452 faculty members participated in the activities carried out by expert faculty members on measurement-evaluation, adult education, current pedagogical approaches, effective communication in the classroom, design of curriculum, gamification of education, educational video design, learning management systems, formative feedback in education and the use of new technologies in education. Stating that ÖGEM was founded in 2019 and has been focusing on promoting an institutional climate aiming at excellence in teaching and learning since its foundation Göktaş said that they organize seminars, workshops and conferences on effective, efficient, satisfactory teaching practices, assessment methods, methods and techniques by conducting joint studies with faculty members and students throughout the university.
