ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY ADDS ANOTHER NEW WORK TO ITS CULTURAL HERITAGE HURUFAT PRINTING MUSEUM COUNTS DAYS TO OPEN

Atatürk University continues its preparations to add a new one to its historical and cultural heritage. The university, which hosts important cultural assets such as the Ice Museum, Agricultural Tools Museum, Biodiversity Science Museum and Hospital Museum, is now preparing to open the Hurufat Atatürk University Printing Museum and launch Turkey's largest and most comprehensive printing museum.

Turkey's Largest and Comprehensive Printing Museum Counts the Days to Open

Hurufat Atatürk University Printing Museum, which will be implemented within the scope of the ‘New Generation University Design and Transformation Project’, which is put forward to determine the vision of Atatürk University and draw the road map, counts the days for the opening.

The printing house, which has been carefully preserved for many years under Prof Dr Fuat Sezgin Library but has been inactive, has reached the final stage for its use as a museum. Hurufat Printing Museum will make a significant contribution to the cultural and scientific development of the university as a concrete indicator of the goals for education, research and social contribution.

Established on an area of 700 m² and consisting of exhibition and printing sections, the museum includes a total of 32 pre-printing, printing and post-printing machines. In addition, thousands of hurufat (metal letters) and printing materials will be exhibited in the museum. The fact that most of these materials are in good condition and that there are almost no similar ones left further emphasises the value of the museum collection.

Rector Çomaklı: ‘Our Printing Museum will make a great contribution to Turkey's Cultural Heritage’

Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Rector of Atatürk University, made a statement about the opening of the museum and stated that the museum is of great importance both academically and socially. Rector Çomaklı: ‘Hurufat Atatürk University Printing Museum, not only our university, will make a great contribution to Turkey's cultural heritage. This museum, which embodies the importance we attach to education and research, has also been implemented as part of our social responsibility. Our museum will be an important platform for future generations to better understand the traces of the past and to embrace this rich heritage.’

Prof. Dr. Çomaklı emphasised that the museum is an important step taken in line with Atatürk University's ‘New Generation University’ vision: ‘Our university will continue to play a pioneering role in the field of culture and art as in every field. This museum will not only be an exhibition area, but also a centre for research and educational activities. It will provide a great opportunity to support academic studies and increase the knowledge of our students in this field.’

Hurufat Atatürk University Printing Museum, which will be opened in the near future, will start to host its visitors after its opening and will be offered to the service of researchers both from within the university and from outside. This museum, which will operate as Turkey's largest printing museum, will once again reveal the pioneering role of Atatürk University in the field of education, culture and science.
