MINISTER OF HEALTH MEMIŞOĞLU MEETS WITH RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU TO ESTABLISH STRONG HEALTH COOPERATION

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, engaged in a meeting with Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, the Minister of Health, as part of his visits to Ankara. At the meeting, the academic, research, and application competence of Atatürk University in the field of health was the subject of discussion. Additionally, ideas were exchanged regarding potential new collaborations that would make a significant academic contribution to health policies.

 The Pharmaceutical Raw Material Production Facility and the Pharmaceutical, Vaccine, and Biotechnology Institute were among the most critical agenda items of the visit. These facilities are scheduled to be operational at Atatürk University in the near future. It was emphasized that these strategic investments, which are intended to decrease Türkiye's external dependency in the health sector, will be a significant step in the expansion of domestic and national production capacity.

 The following statements were made by Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu in his assessment of the meeting: "The meeting we held with our Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu was extremely productive in terms of strengthening the health vision of our university." In particular, we reiterated the significance of collaboration between universities, industries, and the public during our consultations on the Pharmaceutical Raw Material Production Facility and Pharmaceutical, Vaccine, and Biotechnology Institute. At Atatürk University, we recognize our obligation to contribute our scientific expertise in the field of health to the betterment of our nation. We will persist in the development of projects that will contribute to the advancement of novel treatment approaches in this direction.

 During the visit, Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu underscored the significance of Atatürk University for the region and the country. He stated that the university, which is one of the most deeply rooted and respected higher education institutions in Turkey, greatly contributes to the country's development, particularly through the qualified health research it conducts. Minister Memişoğlu stated, "The university-industry-public cooperation model is exemplified by the success of Atatürk University in both academic knowledge production and applied health services." We are committed to monitoring the innovative initiatives implemented in critical sectors, including biotechnology, vaccines, and medicine. We are confident that this forward-thinking approach will enhance the value of our healthcare system.

 The meeting also addressed the potential, capacity, and development of health service entities, including the university hospital and the faculties of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and health sciences. The strategic importance of universities in Turkey's health ecosystem was underscored, and a shared desire was expressed to further enhance the integration of public and private institutions.

 It is anticipated that this qualified contact will enhance the academic profundity of national health policies and contribute to the sustainability of scientific production, thereby supporting Atatürk University's health vision.
