Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, appointed as the new rector of Atatürk University, formally started his duties upon receiving his certificate of election from the President of the Council of Higher Education (CHE). CHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar wished Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu luck and said that their support for Atatürk University, which is in a very vital position for the higher education of the nation, would keep growing at the ceremony conducted in the capital Ankara.

Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: "I am very honoured to be part of this valuable institution"

Emphasising Atatürk University's rich legacy and robust academic program, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu said: "I am very honoured to be a part of this valuable institution" speaking at the certificate of election event. Under this approach wherein research, education, and social service top goals, we will use all our power to improve our institution both nationally and internationally. With our students, academic and administrative staff working on creative ideas for the upcoming term, I think we will have notable success.

Declaring that he would give increasing scientific research top priority, enhancing the quality of education and student-oriented studies in his new post, Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu said, "We will provide all kinds of support required for the development of our students and academics, and we will work together to carry Atatürk University further in every field."

"I have full faith that Rector Hacımüftüoğlu will walk towards new goals with confident steps," CHE President Özvar said.

Speaking during the ceremony, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar said: Prof. Dr. "We believe that Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu will further strengthen the quality of education and the position of our university in the international arena with the innovations and projects he will carry out in the university administration," he said,  Hacımüftüoğlu has undertaken an important duty for Atatürk University. To us, Atatürk University represents the same as Erzurum does for our nation. With our Rector and skilled academic staff, I have complete trust that one of the most established educational institutions in our nation, Atatürk University, will move towards fresh objectives with definite steps. With the research it will hasten in this new approach, our university—which has assumed a great duty as a Research University—will achieve the intended aims. These ideas let us honour our esteemed professor, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, who has begun his service as Rector and wish him success.

Hacımüftüoğlu Will Begin Creating Strategic Plans

After receiving the certificate and beginning his service, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu will return to Atatürk University and have initial meetings with the academic staff and management team emphasising on short-term objectives and strategic plans. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu underlined that they would be in great contact and collaboration with professors and students, stressing that they will do all required actions with desire to advance Atatürk University.
