Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the newly appointed Rector of Atatürk University, was visited in his office by Mayor Mehmet Sekmen of the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality and Court of Accounts Expert Auditor Mehmet Bedel. They wish him the best of success. Topics such as the development of joint initiatives, the strengthening of relations between the city and the university, and the exchange of visions for the future of Erzurum were addressed during the visit.

Mayor Mehmet Sekmen extended his congratulations to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu and wished him the best of luck in his new role. Sekmen stated, "Atatürk University is a leading educational institution in Turkey, not only in Erzurum." During the meeting, mayor Sekmen and Rector Hacımüftüoğlu concentrated on initiatives that will fortify the relationship between the university and the city. During the visit, the significance of studies that will enhance the quality of life of students in the city and enhance the interaction between the university and the public was particularly underscored. Sekmen declared that they desired to implement initiatives that would make the most of the potential of Erzurum and the university.
