HAPPY 99TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TURKISH NATIONAL ANTHEM
Rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı published a congratulatory message on the 99th anniversary of the acceptance of the National Anthem. Rector Çomaklı stated the following in his message:
While the War of Independence was still continuing, an anthem was needed to embody the heroism, the love of the homeland, the belief in freedom, the flag, the crescent and the love of God for a nation that fights against the enemy as a single body.
An anthem for those who have the courage to cry out "Don't be afraid" to a whole nation against the whole world threatening them and will not drop its flag on the ground until a last breath remains, an anthem of a nation standing like a roaring flood, with its sons lying underneath the soil for centuries for this purpose, against the impudent influx of its sanctuary, adhan, stone, and soil.
After 99 years and for many years to come, we celebrate the acceptance of the National Anthem together with the day of the liberation of Erzurum with the same consciousness and the spirit of believing.
