SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT IN RADIATION PHYSICS

Ataturk University Faculty of Science, Physics Department and Computer Science Research and Application Center (BAUM) and Bayburt and Tabuk (Saudi Arabia) Universities have achieved a significant success in the field of physics with their joint article study.

The article titled “Development of a user-friendly online software for calculating parameters related to radiation shield and dosimetry (Phy-X / PSD), published last year in the field of physics in the Journal of Radiation Physics and Chemistry ranked as the 5th most cited article in the field of physics in 2020 publications worldwide according to the InCites Fundamental Science Indicators evaluation presented by the Turkish Foundation
Web of Science (science network) data.

The Phy-X / PSD article published with the joint studies ofAtatürk University Faculty of Science Physics Department faculty members Assoc. Dr. Erdem Şakar, Prof. Dr. Murat Kurudirek and BAUM instructor Özgür Fırat Özpolat and Bayburt University Electrical and Energy Department faculty member Assoc. Dr. Bünyamin Alım ve Tabuk University Physics Department faculty member Assoc. Dr. M. I. Sayyed  M. I. Sayyed once again revealed the importance of cooperation among universities.

According to the weighted field citation effect (FWCI) assessment, which shows the contribution of studies with an average impact factor greater than 1 among articles published in the last three years and scanned in the Scopus Index, Phy-X / PSD study  Iachieved such a high value of 141.48.

Phy-X / PSD (Photon Shielding and Dosimetry), the first study of the Phy-X platform established by Atatürk University researchers to develop and localize software that is actively used worldwide in the fields of theoretical and experimental physics, is required in the design of new and alternative materials that can be used in radiation safety applications. It offers the opportunity to simultaneously calculate all armoring and dosimetry parameters for more than one material. The Phy-X platform is actively used by over 300 researchers from 42 countries as of February 2021.
