ERZURUM LEG OF THE “ENGLISH TOGETHER” PROJECT CONTINUES AT FULL SPEED
The "English Together" project, which is carried out to support the professional and field development of secondary school English teachers and their professional cooperation, is carried out in Erzurum with the partnership of Atatürk University, the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Teacher Training and Development, the British Council and the Sabancı Foundation.
The project, which is organized to enable teachers to think about individual teaching practices, to identify their own problems and to find solutions to these problems together, and also to contribute to the development of their working skills, will be a basic tool for teachers to increase the efficiency of classroom practices and make them feel competent in applying new teaching techniques. .
The Erzurum part of the "English Together" project, whose activities were developed by analyzing the needs of teachers, and whose training contents and resources were taken care to be localized to fit the Turkish context, continues with great participation.
In the project, the 2nd and 3rd legs of which were carried out at Erzurum In-Service Training Institute, the most intense sessions were held in Erzurum, with the participation of 411 English teachers, second only to Ankara and Yalova provinces.
In addition to the training program for English project managers and trainers together, they were provided with historical and touristic tours to get to know the culture of Erzurum.
In the company of Atatürk University International Language Exams Coordinatorship (ATAILE) the managers and trainers visited Atatürk University Ice Museum and campus, Double Minaret Madrasa, Ulu Mosque, Yakutiye Madrasa, Üç Kumbetler, Erzurum Castle and Palandöken Ski Center, with the vehicles allocated by the order of Ataturk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. The managers and trainers who visited the venues said that they liked the city very much and that they would visit again as soon as possible.
