164 PARTICIPANTS FROM 24 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES ATTENDED THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF FOOD, AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK SCIENCES
Atatürk University hosted the opening program of the 6th International Congress of Food, Agriculture, and Livestock Sciences, which brought together experts and researchers from around the globe who work in the fields of agricultural, food, and animal husbandry sciences. The event was attended by a wide range of individuals.
Professor Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Yılmaz, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Önder Çalmaşur, Symposium President Dr. Lecturer Fazıl Hacımüftüoğlu, and invited lecturers, academicians, and students attended the congress.
Hacımüftüoğlu, the President of the Symposium, stated, "Our participants from all over the world will share their knowledge and experiences."
The Symposium President, Dr. Lecturer Fazıl Hacımüftüoğlu, underscored the event's significance as the outcome of an extensive and meticulous work process during the opening program. Hacımüftüoğlu, who believes that the congress will make significant contributions to the scientific field, stated, "This congress, where our participants from all over the world will share their knowledge and experiences, will pioneer the development of new collaborations in agricultural sciences and applications." The objective of our congress is to unite young researchers and experts from around the globe who are engaged in the field of Food, Agriculture, and Livestock Sciences. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research, communicate new ideas, engage in discussions regarding challenging issues, foster future collaborations, and interact with one another. In this regard, we are delighted to convene scientists who are engaged in the interchange of information with one another and to discuss such significant topics within the international scientific community.

Prof. Dr. Önder Çalmaşur, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Atatürk University, expressed his pride in having one of the most established agricultural faculties in Turkey during his speech at the congress. Çalmaşur stated that the faculty has made substantial contributions to our country in the field of agricultural sciences since its inception, stating, "This congress is a great opportunity in terms of knowledge sharing and cooperation." Our objective is to generate scientific solutions to the challenges encountered by the agricultural sector in order to promote the sustainability of our nation's agricultural sector.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, underscored the importance of agriculture as one of the most fundamental building blocks of human history. Hacımüftüoğlu asserted that agriculture is not merely a production area; it also plays a crucial role in the areas of global food security, environmental sustainability, and economic development. He stated, "Today, we are here to explore scientific solutions to the challenges in agriculture, generate new concepts, and establish a more sustainable future vision." I am of the opinion that our congress will result in the adoption of novel approaches to agricultural science and its applications. We will collaborate to ensure a sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly agricultural future.
The Acquisition of Exosomes from Edible Plants in Healthcare and the Opening of New Horizons in Regenerative Medicine
At the congress conducted at Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Fikrettin Şahin's research in the field of regenerative medicine garnered significant attention. Şahin underscored the significance of exosomes derived from edible plants in intercellular communication and tissue repair during his presentation, "Exosomes Obtained from Edible Plants Used in Regenerative Medicine." He also asserted that these natural structures have the potential to be applied in a variety of applications, including the treatment of diseases and the enhancement of the immune system. Şahin, who underscored the significance of assessing these plants as a sustainable resource in his research, disclosed remarkable information regarding the potential applications of exosomes in the field of health in the context of scientific advancements.
Scientific Solutions to a Global Issue: Herbicide-Resistant Weeds
At the congress, Prof. Dr. Meisam Zargar delivered a presentation entitled "A Global View of Herbicide-Resistant Weeds and Management Options" that addressed a critical issue that was threatening the agricultural sector. Zargar asserted that the incorrect and excessive application of agricultural pesticides results in the development of herbicide-resistant plants, which has adverse effects on the ecosystem and agricultural productivity. Zargar provided the audience with effective management strategies that can be implemented on a global scale, as well as recommendations for sustainable agricultural practices and biotechnological methods to address the issue.
The congress, which will be held from December 19-22, 2024, will be attended in person or online by 164 participants from 24 various countries. It is asserted that the studies presented at the congress will be placed in a significant position within the academic community upon their publication in scientific journals.
