HAPPY 15 JULY DEMOCRACY AND NATIONAL UNITY DAY

Ataturk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı released a message on the occasion of 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day. Rector Çomaklı made the following statements in his message:
“Sometimes life breaks as it flows in its natural routine. It is such a break that he steals life from a person's life, he realizes that what he knows as a friend is actually a secret enemy, and that he who thinks he is fighting for the country is a traitor. A person of the same land martyrs his own brother without hesitation. Experiencing this gives a person the hardest life lesson.
July 15 was the most memorable day in our recent history, but the day we most wanted to forget. We saw what we did not see, we experienced what we did not live, we were tested by what we did not think. With the courage and will of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the strength of our faces, with the strength of our wrists and hearts, with the blood of our veterans and martyrs, and with the prayers of our people, we came out of this pressure.
Even though the wounds heal in time, we will always carry the pride of our duty to protect this sacred homeland, which is entrusted to our Father. We will not allow such a thing to happen again, with our indivisible unity and integrity with what the betrayal we experienced has taught us, our sacred values that make us who we are, and our common history and awareness of belief.
While we wish mercy to our martyrs on the anniversary of the uprising, we pray that Allah will not test us with such betrayal again.”
