A message was published by Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı of Atatürk University on the occasion of Democracy and National Unity Day on July 15. The following statements were employed by Rector Çomaklı in his message:

❝This beloved nation consistently demonstrated the ability to unite in the face of adversity, as evidenced by its success in the War of Independence, Çanakkale, and Malazgirt, in order to ensure the survival and independence of its state and nation.

On the night of July 15, the same spirit once again demonstrated the force and will of Turks to the entire world by defying death against the FETO terrorist organization and its collaborators. The world has been sent the clearest message by our nation's determination to resist the treacherous coup attempt that targeted our unity and democracy. We will continue to monitor democracy indefinitely.

I once again curse the treason gang, the perpetrators of the treacherous coup attempt, and genuinely congratulate the "Democracy and National Unity Day" of our heroic nation, which wrote a blessed epic on July 15, as in its glorious past. With these feelings and thoughts I extend my congratulations.

I express my gratitude to all our veterans and remember with compassion the 15 July martyrs who defended their country at the expense of their independence and future, as well as our beloved heroes who sacrificed their lives for the same sacred values throughout history.
