18 MARCH ÇANAKKALE VICTORY AND MARTYRS' MEMORIAL DAY MESSAGE

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, released a message in honour of the Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Memorial Day on March 18. The following phrases were employed by Rector Hacımüftüoğlu in his message:

❝With immense gratitude and pride, we commemorate the anniversary of the March 18 Çanakkale Victory, which is one of the most powerful symbols of the Turkish nation's independence and love of country. Çanakkale is the name of the unparalleled struggle that our nation waged in unity and solidarity in pursuit of its independence and homeland.

The determination, sacrifice, and fortitude of our nation under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk are the foundation of this epic victory. Not only is the struggle in Çanakkale a military victory, but it is also the most powerful manifestation of the determination to confront any obstacle in the pursuit of independence.

Currently, our most pressing obligation is to safeguard the legacy of our martyrs and to advance our nation in a spirit of unity and solidarity. The spirit of Çanakkale remains the most significant source of inspiration for our steadfast commitment to constructing our future with the strength we have inherited from our past.

I remember our champions who made Çanakkale impassable, particularly Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland with mercy, gratitude, and reverence, fuelled by these emotions and thoughts.❞
