HAPPY 19 MAY COMMEMORATION OF ATATÜRK, YOUTH AND SPORTS DAY
On the occasion of the 19th of May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth, and Sports Day, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu released a congratulatory message. The following phrases were used by Rector Hacımüftüoğlu in his message:
❝ The historical turning point that altered the destiny of our nation was the struggle for independence that the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, initiated by landing in Samsun on May 19, 1919. This significant day is not only the commencement of a liberation, but also a powerful symbol of the faith in our youth and the optimism for the future.
By stating, "All my hope is in the youth," Atatürk entrusted our Republic to our youth, prioritising their development as individuals with free ideas, free consciences, and free wisdom. Our obligation today is to preserve these values in order to foster the development of our students as individuals who are well-versed in science, athletics, art, and morality.
At Atatürk University, we are cognisant of this reality; we adhere to the principle of fostering an educational environment that will facilitate the academic and personal growth of our students. We have complete confidence that the future of our country will be brighter as a result of the trust we have placed in our youth.
I earnestly congratulate our nation and our beloved youth on the 19th of May, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and I respectfully and gratefully commemorate all our martyrs and veterans, particularly Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms.❞
