Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, issued a message in honor of World Disability Day on December 3rd. The following phrases were employed by Rector Hacımüftüoğlu in his message:

❝The most significant indicator of human values is the guarantee of equality and justice in all aspects of social life. The challenges faced by our disabled individuals are not solely theirs; they are the collective responsibility of the entire society. A fundamental requirement of social justice is the facilitation of the lives of each individual, the elimination of obstacles, and the provision of the living conditions they deserve. This awareness is essential.

At Atatürk University, we are extremely proud to be making significant strides toward becoming a "Barrier-Free University." We are committed to ensuring that our campus is accessible to all individuals by continuously enhancing our physical and digital environments. We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in education, research, and social life. In this context, we offer specialized support services to our disabled students and personnel and implement initiatives to enhance social awareness.

It is incumbent upon us to guarantee the active engagement of disabled individuals in social activities, thereby facilitating the identification of their abilities and the realization of their potential. Empathy, solidarity, and love serve as our most reliable mentors on this journey. We must recognize the diversity of one another as a source of enrichment and collaborate to establish a system that guarantees equal life rights to all members of society.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd, we reiterate the importance of remembering individuals with disabilities not only today but also on a daily basis and the support they deserve. I extend my affection, admiration, and appreciation to the families and individuals with disabilities on this significant day. It should not be overlooked that love eliminates all obstacles.❞
