A Holistic Meta-System Blending Many Fields Has Been Designed

Making an assessment on the subject, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı stated: “The concept of New Generation refers to the new approach, design and performance that will replace existing technologies in the field of technology. The need for a great transformation that has started in the field of higher education in the world for a long time has started to be defined with this concept. In addition to the education and research duties of universities, it is predicted that the new generation universities will be shaped within the framework of their mission to contribute to society, whether it is the definition of a third generation university that focuses on university-society cooperation-centered innovation or the definition of a fourth generation university that prioritizes regional development. Based on this universal foresight, Atatürk University has been carrying out the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project since February 4, 2018, in order to transform knowledge into value and improve research performance. Within the scope of the project, 19 search conferences were held, 230 visionary people from outside the university and 926 visionary people from within the university were invited to these conferences, and a Holistic Meta-System was designed that blends the common mind with the fields of education, research and contribution to society. This design has been implemented, supported by short, medium and long-term action plans.”
