Organized by the Presidency of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Scientist Support Programs, the 16th Secondary School Students Research Projects Regional Competition Erzurum Regional Exhibition, hosted by Atatürk University, was inaugurated.
Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Erzurum Deputy Governor Can Atak, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Zafer Aynalı, TÜBİTAK Project Competitions Regional Coordinator Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaduman, directors of institutions and organizations, teachers, students and parents and many citizens attended the inauguration held at the conference hall of the Kazım Karabekir Education Faculty.
In the event that started with the reading of the speech sent by TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, TÜBİTAK Project Competitions Regional Coordinator and also one of the faculty members of Atatürk University Faculty of Science
Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaduman took the stand first. He told that even participating in the competition requires great effort and hard work, adding "“We define this competition as a competition without a loser. We see that our students, teachers and families all work hard to take part in these projects. I believe that there will be inventors and scientists among our students who have participated in the competition, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to and supported the organization.”

Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı sarted his speech expressing his pleasure to be hosting the TÜBİTAK Secondary School Students Research Projects Exhibition, which activates young minds with the excitement of scientific production and lays the groundwork for the discovery potential of secondary school students. “Our dear students! You are the architects of our future, remember that the national technology move is the future of our country and the guarantee of our independence. In this sense, you will conquer the world with your discoveries and important contributions to science. Now, there is a Türkiye that has come a long way in exhibiting scientific and technological assets, making great moves and inventions, with rich opportunities. This organization, held by TÜBİTAK, is an incentive for everyone carrying out scientific activities in Türkiye, and plays an important role in the dissemination and adoption of science. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our president and team of TÜBİTAK. I would also like to thank all of our students who participated in the competition, their advisor teachers, school administrators and all the project team who have a share in the organization. I wish you all continued success.” he completed his speech.
The Award Ceremony will be held on March 31After the speech ceremony of the exhibition, the delegation received information from the students about the work done and the projects developed. The award ceremony of the exhibition, which is set to continue for 3 days, will be held on March 31, 2022 at Atatürk University Nenehatun Cultural Center.
