 ATA Teknokent Ordinary General Assembly convened under the chairmanship of Rector Çomaklı


ATA Teknokent General Assembly was convened under the chairmanship of Atatürk University Rector Prof Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Murat Altundağ, Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union Secretary General Murat Karapınar, Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vakur Alemdar and ATA Teknokent board members attended the meeting.The meeting started with the presentation of ATA Teknokent General Manager Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ersin Karaman, which included the work of Teknokent. Giving information about the steps taken towards the transformation of the University-Industrial Relations into concrete cooperation, General Manager Karaman pointed out the methods and measures to be taken at the point of establishment of high-tech based new companies and growth of small companies, transformation of academic knowledge in the university into technological products and realization of technology transfer, and increasing the rate of research and development “We Must Accelerate R & D And Innovation Activities” President Çomaklı made a speech at the meeting and emphasized that technology development centers should accelerate R & D and innovation activities in order to reach the targets set out in the 2023 vision of our country in a short time. Rector Çomaklı continued his speech: "the most important factor that determines and shapes the economic development and social welfare levels of countries in the 21st century is their technological development and scientific progress. The development of the welfare level of a society depends only on its ability to develop products and production methods based on R & D, i.e. its success in the field of Science and technology, to become a country that can compete in the international arena and look to the future with confidence. Now, product competition in developed countries has become a competition for scientific and technological superiority. At this point, Technocities stand out as the most important development tools implemented since the early 1950s.” Stating that ATA Teknokent has an important mission in the development of Erzurum, Rector Çomaklı said that the number of companies that are 79 as of today will exceed 100 in 2020. Çomaklı expressed his opinion that the number of Academician companies will increase by 50 percent in 2020, and congratulated ATA-Teknokent management and board members for their selfless work in this direction.  CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTORATE
