The ATAUAV team, which is a member of Atatürk University ATATEB Club and formed by the students of the Computer, Electrical-Electronics and Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, participated in the world's most prestigious unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) competition, AUVSI SUAS (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International - Student Unmanned). Aerial Systems Competition) went to America to participate.

ATAUAV team members Ramazan Harmaner, Murat Yıldız, Rıdvan Çartı, Berfin Sayyip, Muhammed Işık, Yusuf Akın, Mahmure Güler, who passed the pre-selection of the competition held in Maryland, USA since 2002 in order to increase interest in unmanned aerial systems and encourage the development of these technologies by students, Mehlika Ferda Topal and team advisor Dr. Ferhat Bozkurt will represent our university and our country in the competition, which was held with the participation of 71 teams from many different countries.

Making an assessment on the subject, ATAUAV Team Advisor Dr. Ferhat Bozkurt: “As Atatürk University, we encourage our young engineer candidates to conduct scientific and technical studies by directing them to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles technologies. As the Faculty of Engineering, we provide added value to our students in the international arena by creating areas where they will move from theory to practice and by enabling them to participate in such competitions that enable them to keep up with technological developments. With these thoughts in mind, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı On behalf of my students, I would like to thank the entire university family.”

Stating that Atatürk University aims to increase its human resources trained in the fields of science and engineering, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that in this context, the students participating in AUVSI SUAS are now representing our country in an international competition with their national experience in the TEKNOFEST competition.

Rector Çomaklı: “Young people participating in the competition have the opportunity to participate in the career days of the world's leading technology companies and to gain a "network" by meeting with experts in their fields. At the same time, they have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with competitors from different universities around the world.
