ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY RANKED IN THE WORLD RANKINGS IN 14 FIELDS

In order to inform higher education institutions and society, the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory, which is part of the METU Informatics Institute, ranked the world's universities according to their scientific disciplines.

Atatürk University was ranked among the top 10 universities in Turkey in 12 disciplines and among the top 1000 respected universities in the world in 13 fields, as per this ranking. Although it was ranked in 14 distinct disciplines of science, it made progress in 12 of these fields and was among the top three in Turkey in four of them. Atatürk University's qualified academic staff and robust infrastructure in research and education are underscored by these accoplishments.

The university is ranked first in Turkey and 555th in the world in the field of Molecular Biology and Genetics, particularly in disciplines such as Chemical Sciences and Pharmacology, where it is a pioneer. Atatürk University, which is also the first institution of higher education in Turkey in the field of chemical sciences, has risen to the 648th position in the globe. The university is ranked 328th in the world and is the second-ranked institution in Turkey in the discipline of pharmacology.

Additionally, Atatürk University experienced substantial improvements in its global rankings across a variety of scientific disciplines. It advanced 74 positions in the global rankings of Biological Sciences, from 788th to 714th. It ranked 997th in the world rankings in the discipline of agriculture, having risen 58 places. Food Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Materials Engineering, and Technology also experienced substantial ranking improvements.

The eighth-ranked university in the most fields

Atatürk University, which was ranked in 14 fields in the 2023-2024 World Field Ranking compiled by URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) within the METU Informatics Institute, has become the 8th university in Turkey to be ranked in the most fields.


In an assessment of the accomplishments, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı of Atatürk University expressed his pride in being recognized as one of the world's top universities in 14 disciplines in the METU URAP field rankings. Rector Çomaklı asserted that Atatürk University has made significant strides in the global academic competition, stating, "The results announced by METU URAP prove that we are one of the best universities in the world in a wide range of fields, from engineering to health, from basic sciences to environmental sciences."

Rector Çomaklı: "I would like to extend my gratitude to all of our members."

Atatürk University has been able to participate in 14 scientific fields as a result of its quality education, qualified human resources, research and development, and innovation-based innovative infrastructure, according to Rector Çomaklı. "The successes we have achieved in the new period we started as a Research University will take us even higher." Our university has distinguished itself by establishing bilateral partnerships that are consistent with its internationalization objectives, despite its significant advancements in research, project preparation, article writing, and citations. We are exerting ourselves to enhance our university on a daily basis and elevate its international reputation. As the future of our nation, we endeavor to instill the values of the "Turkey Century" in the youth of the second century of our Republic and to collaborate in the development of science and technology. In addition to our contributions to science and literature, we also address the challenges that impact our society and humanity. With these considerations; "I would like to thank all our members and stakeholders who research, produce and work for the success of our university," said the rector.
