ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED JULY 15

Various events were held at Atatürk University to mark the 4th anniversary of the coup attempt on 15 July 2016.

In the museum, where there are areas for resting and tea breaks, guests will be able to visit the exhibition named "Maân", which means "together" in old Turkish.

All Day Sports Activities Held

 Ataturk University Sports Club held a variety of events throughout the day on July 15 to commemorate largest climbing wall in Turkey located on campus. Activities, from rafting to canoeing, from climbing to walking on a rope, ended with a bicycle tour covering the entire city.

Rector Çomaklı Attended Democracy Watch

Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı participated in the democracy watch event on July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day. Rector Çomaklı, who took his place with the Turkish Flag at the ceremony held on the anniversary of July 15, when the national unity and solidarity became stronger, stated that the indivisible unity of the homeland became stronger on these special days.

Emphasizing that everybody has great responsibilities to prevent the 15 July and similar betrayals from happening again, Çomaklı said: “July 15th is a struggle for democracy and freedom, a test of solidarity and recognizing friends, foes, and a night of life and death. It is not just an attempt but an attempt to destroy a state, a nation. The last 4 years have not made us forget our martyrs, nor have changed our interlocking national spirit. On the contrary, our indivisible unity and integrity, our sacred values that make us who we are, our common history and belief consciousness have been further consolidated ”.
