According to the results of Atatürk University 2021 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), the quotas for associate and undergraduate programs have been determined.

According to the 2021 YKS Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), a total of 58,782 quotas were given to Atatürk University formal and open education programs in the 2021-2022 academic year.

In undergraduate education, a total of 7 thousand 841 quotas were given to formal education for 138 departments, while 18 thousand 360 quotas were allocated to 13 programs for Open Education. For Associate Degree, 4 thousand 847 quotas were granted to 89 formal programs and 35 thousand 575 quotas were granted to 29 programs for Open Education. Accordingly, the total number of quotas allocated to 269 programs was 58,782.

When the quota for foreign students, vertical transfer quota and graduate and doctorate student quotas to be taken to institutes are included in this number in the new period, Atatürk University is expected to exceed 15 thousand students in formal education and 50 thousand students in open education in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Making an evaluation on the subject, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, which was started in 2018, has proven its success as of today. Rector Çomaklı, who stated that he believed that they would exceed the 15 thousand student threshold with the start of the selection process and the completion of additional placements, stated that the steps taken in line with the vision of the New Higher Education Council increased the success of Atatürk University every year and said, “Our university is one of the higher education institutions in our country that receives the most students. Our university, which has achieved a serious growth with its new vision, continues to fulfill the requirements of deepening and reaching a qualified education level in scientific research activities, which is its main task. Our university, which has increased its national and international recognition with the scientific studies we carry out, will continue to produce information with the participation of our new students, to maintain the university-city integrity, and to contribute to the development of our country by cooperating with all stakeholder institutions and organizations. On this occasion, I invite university candidates who will choose to join the privileged world of being an Atatürk University student.”
