ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY 2022-2023 SPRING SEMESTER EDUCATION PLANNING ANNOUNCED
Atatürk University Senate, which convened under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı to discuss the new education planning of the 2022-2023 spring semester, which was started through distance education based on the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education due to the effects of the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquake disaster throughout the country, announced the decision of the Senate on the education planning for the 2022-2023 Spring Semester.
The following statements were made in the decision taken at the University Senate:
To be valid as of 03.04.2023 in the spring semester of 2022-2023, which was started through distance education based on the letter of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education dated 17.02.2023;
Not to apply the restriction in Article 6 of the "Procedures and Principles Regarding Distance Education in Higher Education Institutions", which is in force, that a maximum of 30% of the courses in a semester according to ECTS credits can be given through distance education,
In addition to the distance education that is currently being implemented, face-to-face education can be given in the classrooms without the requirement of attendance to the students who want, which courses will be carried out through distance education and which courses will be carried out in the form of hybrid education will be decided by the unit boards, and the decisions to be made will be announced to the students by the units through the unit web pages and OBS message,
To carry out the Common Compulsory Courses (CCC) through distance education,
The applications of the courses that require practice can be done in the form of homework, projects, etc. or face-to-face in the spring semester according to the decision to be taken by the unit boards,
To carry out the clinical practices of the 4th, 5th and 6th year students of the Faculty of Medicine; 4th and 5th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry; 5th year students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; 5th year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy; 4th year students of the Faculty of Nursing, 4th year students of the "Midwifery" programme of the Faculty of Health Sciences, 2nd year students of the Vocational School of Health Services and the Teaching Practice course of Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Faculty of Theology and Faculty of Sports Sciences through face-to-face education,
To carry out the courses to be conducted through distance education within the framework of "2022-2023 Spring Semester Distance Education Application Principles",
Within the scope of the Framework Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education, internship and vocational training in the enterprise, etc. courses requiring application to be continued in their current form,
Students who are continuing their education in another higher education institution as a special student can continue their education in the same way,
Midterm exams in the spring semester (except for the programmes with practical education for which special student rights are granted) to be held online with distance education methods based on the principle of "transparency and auditability",
In the evaluations to be made; open-ended or multiple-choice online exams, assignments, online quizzes, projects, Learning Management System (LMS) activities, LMS usage analytics and similar applications can be used,
To determine when and how exams such as single course, thesis monitoring, proficiency exam will be held by the unit boards,
To re-evaluate and decide how the final exams will be held in the future,
After the discussions regarding the proposal of the Department of Student Affairs to hold the midterm (midterm) exam (excluding prisons) of the Faculty of Open and Distance Education for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year between 11-18 April 2023 online, the proposal is accepted,
It was decided to make the necessary planning in line with the new decisions to be taken by the Council of Higher Education in the future.
