ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY 2022-2023 SPRING SEMESTER EDUCATION PLANNING SENATE DECISION
To discuss the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to complete the 2022-2023 spring semester through distance education, Atatürk University Senate, which convened under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr.Ömer Çomaklı, announced the senate decision on the education planning for the 2022-2023 spring semester.
The following statements were included in the decision taken by the University Senate:
Due to the effects of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake disaster across the country, it was decided to complete the 2022-2023 spring semester through distance education, based on the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 17.02.2023. In this context;
The course registrations of the 2022-2023 spring semester academic calendar and the starting dates of the courses are updated as follows,

The Decisions were taken as follows:
Theoretical, theoretical and some applied courses (which do not require laboratory, workshop, field work, etc.) will be conducted online (simultaneously and non-synchronously) within the framework of "2022-2023 Spring Semester Distance Education Practice Principles" by using distance education opportunities;
The courses of the Faculty of Medicine 4th, 5th and 6th grades; Faculty of Dentistry 4th and 5th grades; Veterinary Faculty 5th grade; Faculty of Pharmacy 5th grades; the clinical practices courses of the 4th grade students of the Faculty of Nursing and the 4th grade students of the "Midwifery" program of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the 2nd grade students of the Vocational School of Health Services, and the Teaching Practice courses of the Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Faculty of Theology and Sports Sciences Faculties will be conducted through face-to-face education;
Within the scope of the Framework Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education, it is decided by the Board of Directors of the Unit, under the supervision of our Rectorate, that the courses including laboratory, workshop, field work, internship, vocational training in business, etc. that require practice can be carried out through face-to-face education, taking into account the accommodation status of the students;
Upon the request of the students who can continue their applied education, those themselves and their first degree relatives who reside in the provinces affected by the earthquake, they can receive this education as special students in the equivalent diploma programs of the university in the provinces where their residences or temporary residences are located;
At the end of the spring semester, the applied trainings they are successful in are completely deducted from the credit load;
No additional tuition and training fees are requested from them;
Special student requests should be made within 3 weeks from the start of education, taking into account the start date of the 2022-2023 spring semester;
If it is requested, students are entitled to freeze the 2022-2023 spring semester registrations, which means this period will not be deducted from the maximum education period of the program;
For the students enrolled in Associate, Undergraduate and Graduate programs, those who have exams such as final, make-up, excuse, single course exams for the 2022-2023 fall semester on February 6 and afterwards, and those who can not attend the proficiency or thesis exam in graduate programs, the said exams will be held at a later date to be determined by the administrative boards of the relevant units.
It has been decided to make the necessary planning in line with the new decisions to be taken in the future by the Council of Higher Education.
