ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY HOSTED THE 24 NOVEMBER TEACHERS' DAY PROGRAM
Participation in the program organized by Erzurum Provincial Directorate of National Education on the occasion of November 24 Teachers' Day was quite intense.
The celebration program hosted by Atatürk University and held at the Cultural Center 15 July National Will Hall was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı; Besides Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş, Erzurum Gendarmerie Regional Commander Brigadier General Mehmet Çimen, Erzurum Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, Iranian Islamic Republic Erzurum Consul General Sajad Soltanzadeh, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander J. Colonel. İlker Şimşek, Erzurum Provincial Director of National Education Salih Kaygusuz, Erzurum Provincial Police Chief Levent Tuncer, judicial, military and judicial officials, institution managers, representatives of non-governmental organizations, teachers, students and many parents attended.
The program, which started with Atatürk University Kazım Karabekir Education Faculty Music Department students singing the National Anthem, continued with speeches about the meaning and importance of the day; The ceremony continued with the awarding of service honor certificates to retired teachers, the swearing-in of novice teachers, and the awarding of certificates of achievement to students who achieved degrees in painting, poetry and essay competitions organized on the occasion of November 24.
Rector Çomaklı: “Teaching is the Art of Raising Humans”
Stating that the teachers, who are the architects of the future, are very happy to be with them on this special day and to host such a meaningful program, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı states that a nation's ability to reach the level of contemporary countries; He stated that education and training can only be possible with quality and scientific methods, and this will only be possible thanks to teachers.
Rector Çomaklı emphasized that teaching is not a profession, but a sacred as well as a responsible task: “Teaching is the art of educating virtuous, virtuous people who know their holy spirit, respect and glorify their homeland and nation. Our teachers, who are the epitome of love and self-sacrifice, are also artists who train people with these qualities. It is of great importance for the future of our nation that our youth and children are well brought up in all aspects, learn their history well, assimilate the values of civilization, and take responsibility. Therefore, education and training of our army is our top priority.”
Expressing his gratitude to all the teachers who have served and made efforts to raise our country to the level of contemporary civilizations, Çomaklı said: “With these thoughts, I would like to express my gratitude to all our teachers working in the country and abroad on this meaningful day when the National Schools were opened and Gazi Mustafa Kemal was given the title of Head Teacher. I wish God's mercy to all our teachers who passed away, including our educators who died in the line of duty, and I wish a healthy and peaceful long life to our retired teachers with their families.
The program, which gave the guests emotional moments with the Turkish Folk Music concert, ended after the theater plays.
