ACCEPTANCE OF ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY AS A COMPLETE MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATION (EUA) HAS OCCURRED.

Acknowledging yet another momentous achievement in the global sphere, Atatürk University was granted complete membership in the European University Association (EUA). By affiliating with this consortium of Europe's preeminent academic establishments, Atatürk University will enhance its global influence and significantly contribute to international cooperation and the exchange of information.

The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) is a collective full member of the European Union (EUA), which has 51 universities from our country as members, of which 39 are universities with full membership status. Of these universities, 18 foundation universities and 33 state universities are members of the EUA.

Ataturk University, whose application for European University Association (EUA) membership was approved at the council meeting held in Gdansk, Poland on April 19, 2024, is a member of the Bologna Process and the EU's higher education. It represents over 850 universities and national rectors' conferences in 49 European countries. The institution was granted complete membership in the European University Association, an organization that significantly impacts policies pertaining to research and innovation. The purpose of this membership is to foster collaboration between member universities and educational institutions in Europe. Through participation in various scientific events, interactive learning activities, and the sharing of best practices, this membership aims to create new exchange programs and joint research opportunities that align with the university's internationalization strategy.

"This membership will increase the international visibility of our university."

Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, the rector of Atatürk University, issued the subsequent remarks concerning the institution's election as a full member of the European University Association: "In regard to our membership in the European University Association, we uphold our commitment to actively participating in global affairs and advancing education and research of the highest caliber. Full membership in the European University Association is at our disposal. "Membership acceptance serves as an indicator of the efficacy and triumph of our endeavors in this regard. By obtaining this membership, our university will enhance its global visibility and expand prospects for collaboration with one of the preeminent education networks in Europe.

"EUA is a vital platform that seeks to advance cooperation and the exchange of information."

Recalling that the university's education was recently granted accreditation by the Higher Education Quality Board, Rector Çomaklı stated: "The European University Association (EUA) serves as a significant forum that fosters collaboration and the exchange of knowledge among European higher education institutions in the domains of research, innovation, and education." "This new membership will strengthen Atatürk University's active role in the international arena and provide a competitive advantage at the global level by offering students a broader perspective. Atatürk University's effective international representation will be ensured by its acceptance as a full member of this union," he said.

Rector Çomaklı expressed confidence that the momentum generated by the New Generation Design and Transformation Project will lead to further significant advancements. He stated, "As Atatürk University, we are honored to receive full membership status in the European University Association. This momentous milestone will facilitate enhanced achievements and collaborations on the global stage, constituting a substantial contribution to both our institution and our nation. I earnestly hope that this endeavor proves advantageous."
