ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY WINS GRANT WITH ERASMUS KA220 INTERNATIONAL R&D COLLABORATION PROJECT

"Design, creation and development of the Scientific Observatory for School Attendance" (International Scientific Observatory for School Attendance Problems) was prepared jointly by scientists working at Atatürk University, Spain Alicante University, University of Rome and Brussels University for children with school attendance problems. The R&D project titled (Design, Creation and Development) was entitled to be supported with a budget of 400 thousand Euros within the scope of the “ERASMUS KA2” program carried out by the European Union.

As Atatürk University coordinator of the project and continuing his research activities as a visiting professor at Würzburg University in Germany, Prof. Dr. İsmail Seçer, Assist. Prof. Member İsmail Ay, Dr. Sümeyye Ulaş and Lecturer Cahit sunay attended the R&D focused project KA220-SCH-5C779D81 which was supported with a budget of 400 thousand Euros. During the project process, it is aimed to develop comprehensive and culture-sensitive modules for children with school attendance problems for 3 years, to test their effectiveness and to transfer them to other countries.

It is aimed to implement the modules to be developed within the scope of the project in selected schools in Erzurum in order to prevent school attendance problems, which have become a common problem area in Europe and Turkey, and to transfer the applications to be developed to other countries during the project process.

Project coordinator Prof. Dr. İsmail Seçer said that they would work with scientists from the leading universities of Spain, Italy and Belgium within the scope of the project and that he hopes that this project will provide important international gains both for Atatürk University's new generation university vision and for the development of the project culture of young researchers.

The Project Will Provide an Important Gain Regarding School Attendance Problems in Turkey and European Countries

Considering that the number of school-age children in our country is 20 million, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı made the following remarks: “With this project, which was developed with international cooperation under the leadership of our university academics, a comprehensive research and development process will be carried out for children with school attendance problems. I congratulate the valuable members of our university, which is a pioneer in scientific studies, for the project they have developed, and I wish the project implementations to be completed successfully.”
