Rector Çomaklı: “We have an international publishing house”
Atatürk University Publishing House, which is among these publishing houses, is among the frequent destinations of book lovers with its 1,300 works published. Stating that the publishing house, which draws attention with both its printed publications and its digital archive, was established in 1959, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that valuable works are published in every field from science to social sciences, from health to sports, from culture to art, and that it is an effective unit that is followed with interest not only in Erzurum and its region, but also in many countries, especially since it has the status of an international publishing house.
Rector Çomaklı reminded that they also participated in the traditional Erzurum Book Fair in previous years. "Atatürk University Publishing House has a wide range of publications. The published works are the ones that will attract the attention of those who are interested in the subject, as well as those who conduct scientific and academic studies.
“Reading books opens one's horizons in every way”
Speaking about the book fair, Rector Çomaklı stated that reading feeds and develops thinking, adding: “All these abilities make thinking mature. It changes the perspective towards the world and makes it possible to look at things from a different perspective. In short, reading a book opens one's horizons in every way. With these thoughts in mind, I would like to thank all our institutions and organizations that contributed to the opening of the fair, as well as the participatory publishing houses, and invite all our citizens to our fair, which will be open for 10 days.”
In the fair, which will continue to host book lovers until May 22, many writers, poets, authors, artists, journalists and researchers will sign and talk. In addition to the nationally famous master pens, many writers and poets raised by Erzurum will meet with their fans at autographs and interviews.
