The global ranking about the academic issues of Shangai Ranking (GRAS) was promulgated. In the research where the universities more than 4000 were studied, Atatürk University managed to be among the first 500 universities with 9 Turkish universities in the category “Education”. 

Shangai Ranking which has started to promulgate the Academic Ranking of the World Universities (ARWU) about the academic issues since 2009 includes the rankings of the universities in 54 fields such as  Education, Natural Sciences, Engineering, LifeSciences and Social Sciences. 

Rector of Atatürk University Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı evaluated the issue and said that the roles of the universities in the country are of great importance in this ardous journey while walking towards the future with the history of the Republic of Turkey and its values. 

Çomaklı stated that the universities lead the construction of the country’s future with their academicians, administrative staff and students and with their ideas and the ways which they produce. He said Atatürk University that is the most highly placed and the most prestigious university in Turkey and which proceeds on its way with the auld values has emphatically advanced to be making of the world university. 

Rector Çomaklı who called attention to the fact that they are in many research lists which have carried on the studies in the academic field said, “We aim to labor much more than normally for our country’s future, make an effort for the production of scientific and technological bases which are necessary for our nation, country and state’s tomorrow, and develop the projects by doing researches which are suitable for the new conception of YÖK.

We have exchanged of views with the known universities in the world so that we can determine the policies which will enable to transfer this vision which we have presented into practice during the next period and we will go on exchanging. Besides, during this period, we will go on providing value to the society in which we are and will serve the universal policies by which our country will compete with the world in the higher education. The successes which we have tried for are our great efforts of Atatürk University. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you.”
