The Presidential Cabinet, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, decided to take various measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COV1D-19) outbreak in our country.
Within the scope of this process coordinated by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Ataturk University closely followed the developments and prepared an action plan and decided to implement them the following these practices below.
The following statements were included in the action plan announced by the Rectorate of Atatürk University:
“Dear Members,
As Atatürk University, under the coordination of our Crisis Management Centre; we are closely following the official statements made by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization and the Higher Education Institution from the beginning of the process on the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic that affects the world, and are taking the necessary measures immediately.
Our top priority is the health of our students, academicians, patients and personnel. Considering this, our measures that we took against COVID-9 infection throughout the university include:
In Accordance with the decisions of CoHE; cancellation the courses and activities (such as graduation ceremony, congress, conference, festival) held in our university until April 5, 2020,
Halting of intercollegiate national and international sports, shows and club activities ,
Postponing academic and administrative staff 's scientific and socio-cultural activities and their overseas trip,
Cancellation of the arrival of foreign academics who will come from abroad,
Starting the production of high-level sanitizers by the Faculty of Pharmacy of our University (to be used in the lecture halls and classroom entrances).
Cleaning of public areas in our university (such as dining halls, corridors) and toilets, sinks, lecture halls, stair handrails, door handles, elevators, ATMs with water and cleaning materials, frequent ventilation of the classrooms and corridors after classes
Informing about personal hygiene and preparing training videos on this subject and publishing them continuously on our website and digital channels,
Providing the cleaning products such as soap, toilet paper and napkins that people will use in their individual cleaning fully and continuously
Stopping the arrival and departure of foreign students on the issue of not coming to the country by reserving their right to education,
Providing necessary activities for doing the night cleaning of academic units which have night education,
Ensuring that university personnel services are cleaned with water and cleaning materials,
Providing necessary convenience for those who want to return to our university among the students and academicians who are in abroad for exchanging programs,
Halting all assignments made by our university
The academic and administrative staff returning from abroad are counted as 14 days administrative leave,
Analysing of the students' situations who do internships in foreign institutions by the relevant ministry,
Continuation of the studies of intern students studying at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Faculties,
It has been agreed that the part-time students are considered to be on leave within the specified periods.
Measures to be Taken in Atatürk University Research Hospital and Faculty of Dentistry
In addition to the Health Research and Application Center (Research Hospital) and the Faculty of Dentistry Risk Management team, it has been decided to establish a COVID-19 Coordination Unit and the following members of our university have been decided to take place in this unit :

Informing all hospital staff and faculty members about ensuring that the doors of the units serving within the Research Hospital of our University are closed completely except the visiting hours,
Arrangement of visiting hours as between 12.00-13.00 and 17.00-18.00,
Regularly conducting training meetings within the scope of the COVID-19 virus
Hanging the posters prepared by our Crisis Management Center in order to inform in appropriate places of the hospital,
