EXCITEMENT OF “NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY MOVEMENT” AT ATATURK UNIVERSITY

Organised by Ataturk University, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality and T3 Foundation, The conference on national technology movement was held in Blue Hall at Ataturk University Cultural Centre.

The Rector of Atatürk University Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, General Manager of Ata Teknokent  Ersin Karaman accompanied to general manager of BAYKAR and T3 Foundation Chairman of Board Haluk Bayraktar who came to Erzurum to give a conference as a guest  invited by Ataturk University Young Vision student club.  Before the conference; on the booths, Teknokent firms which do activities at Ataturk University and Erzurum Technical University, students clubs and technology groups introduced the systems they generated and the scientific and social projects they conduct. Visited all the booths one by one, the committee received information from the students about their products and projects.

After visiting the booths, they attend to the conference “National Technology Movement” at Blue Hall. Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, who made a greeting speech to the participants, drew attention to the National and Domestic car introduced last day. Saying that if supported, Turkish entrepreneurs could produce our own car, arms, unmanned aerial vehicle and submarine, President Sekmen thanked everyone who made efforts in this direction. Mayor Sekmen went on his speech by saying: “I think President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's will for national and domestic production should be applauded. Bayraktar family is working and producing with great enthusiasm in the direction shown by our president in the national technology point. I express my gratitude to them for their success.”

Talking about the steps taken to make the defence industry of Turkey original and national, Haluk Bayraktar said that Turkey is taking successful and steps in the right direction day by day. Giving information especially on unmanned aerial vehicle, Bayraktar said: “Unmanned systems have become very important in the world. In unmanned aerial vehicle technology, Turkey has become an country which independently develops the most advanced technology in a unique way and not only put it to the service of the country, uses it in its operations but also exports it. Of course, its sustainability is important. Such productions are made by qualified people. In this sense, we need to strengthen this ecosystem. If we want to grow a plane tree, it does not grow in a flower pot. It is a matter of ecosystem, a matter of spreading R & D culture. It can be achieved by creating a positive atmosphere, by supporting the ones who attempt to make these things. With the mission of spreading this idea, we established Turkey Technology Team Foundation(T3).”

After the conference, T3 Foundation Chairman of Board Haluk Bayraktar visited the Rector of Atatürk University Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı in his office. Expressing his pleasure for the visit, Rector Çomaklı stated that he closely followed the activities of Bayraktar family and T3 foundation.Saying that Baykar is the leader of a movement which will create a transformation in defence and aviation by putting domestic and national production in the centre for Turkey to be technologically independent, The rector Çomaklı thanked Bayraktar for his works.

The visit ended after gift presentations.
