The results of the 2024/1 period of the '2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Programme' and '2209-B University Students Research Projects Support Programme for Industry', which were conducted by the TUBITAK Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (BİDEB), have been released. This term, Atatürk University has attained substantial success in both programs.
A total of 221 student initiatives from Atatürk University were eligible for support under the 2209-A program. 26 faculties, colleges, and vocational institutions submitted projects, with the Faculties of Pharmacy (30), Science (31), Theology (30), Engineering (24) and Veterinary Medicine (22) contributing the most. The university's multidisciplinary structure and research culture were elucidated by this diversity.
Two initiatives from the Faculty of Engineering at Atatürk University were granted support under the 2209-B program, which emphasises collaboration with industry. This outcome demonstrated the students' commitment to applying their academic expertise to the workplace.
In his assessment of the accomplishments, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu expressed the following thoughts: "We are proud of the projects that our students have produced, as they are consistent with our vision of a research university." The scientific competency of our university and the potential of our young researchers are demonstrated by these initiatives, which are supported by TÜBİTAK. I extend my genuine congratulations to our students, our academic counsellors, and all of our units that have made contributions. I am of the firm conviction that these accomplishments will be beneficial to the scientific advancement of our nation and to their personal growth.
In the forthcoming periods, Atatürk University will persist in its efforts to secure national and international support programs, particularly TÜBİTAK, and will endeavour to enhance its student-centered research approach.
