THE ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION CENTER HAS ACHIEVED A SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE WITH THE COMPLETION OF ITS 1000TH TRANSPLANT.
The Organ Transplantation Education Research and Application Center at Atatürk University Research Hospital has achieved substantial success as a result of the numerous organ transplants it has conducted since its inception. The 1000th organ transplant performed by the facility was a significant milestone for the Turkish health system and the region.
The center, which has conducted numerous successful operations, particularly liver and kidney transplants, continues to operate with its expert team, modern medical infrastructure, and constantly evolving technical equipment. It offers services to patients from all over Turkey and neighboring countries, in addition to the Eastern Anatolia Region.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, visited the Organ Transplantation Center to commemorate the center's substantial success, which has provided hope to hundreds of patients to date. He congratulated the center team for completing 1000 liver transplants.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, who also visited the patients who received organ transplants at the center, attributed the success to the dedicated healthcare personnel and citizens who are sensitive to organ donation. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the critical significance of organ donation, asserting that heightened awareness of the donation process will enable the preservation of an increased number of lives.
Hacımüftüoğlu stated, "Our Organ Transplant Center will continue to make significant strides toward becoming one of the few organ transplant centers in Turkey by enhancing its service quality and integrating advanced technologies into its infrastructure after the 1000th transplant operation." We will ensure that our institution receives the requisite assistance in this matter. I extend my congratulations to our hospital and center, which continue to contribute to the health sector of the region and the nation, as well as to all of our healthcare professionals who have played a role in this achievement.
