The Presidency of the Council of Higher Education (CHE) published "the 2020 University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report, which evaluates the performances of universities" on Twitter.
Educational activities and related yields of universities were handled in 11 categories. In the report, with 475 projects in the field of "Social Responsibility", Atatürk University became the university where the most social responsibility projects were produced by students.
Atatürk University ranked first with 475 social responsibility projects, Sakarya University ranked second with 456 projects, Selçuk University third with 382 projects, Pamukkale University fourth with 346 projects, and Gaziantep University fifth with 322 projects.
While the university with the highest number of industrial projects carried out by students was Erciyes University with 636 projects, Middle East Technical University was ranked second with 562 projects, Istanbul Technical University was third with 488 projects, Atatürk University was fourth with 300 projects, and Süleyman Demirel University was ranked fifth with 248 projects.
While the number of social and industrial projects of students increased in 2019, 8,465 social responsibility projects were carried out in 168 universities and 5,468 industrial projects in 124 universities.
"Projects Contribute to the University-Society Relationship"
Rector Çomaklı stated that the social responsibility projects, one of the outputs of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project implemented by Atatürk University within the framework of the New CHE Vision, were emphasized in 2018 and 2019 and that academicians and students were always supported in their projects. Our students and lecturers, who have undertaken many valuable works, from raising awareness of human rights and the environment, protecting the rights of women, children and animals, from educational equality to bringing people with disabilities to society, contribute significantly to the relationship between the university and society.
