HIPPOTHERAPY TRAINING WAS PROVIDED TO DISABLED CHILDREN BY ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY
The "Hippotherapy Event for Disabled Children" was organized by the Atatürk University Manege Area and Equine Coordination Office in observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3. Horseback riding instruction was provided to children with special needs at the event under the guidance of instructors.
The children were escorted by their parents while riding horses in the Manege Area and participating in other enjoyable activities in the area, as evidenced by the delight on their faces.
On the occasion of International World Disability Day, Manege Area and Equine Coordinator Associate Dr. Gokhan Oztürk stated that they provided hippotherapy training to disabled children. In his capacity as coordinator, he stated that they provide essential training to children with special needs, including psychological support, those who are afflicted with lack of communication and muscle strength, and that they strive to assist children in clinging to life more tightly through the use of trained horses and that they offer support.
Oztürk underscored the fact that over twenty complimentary trainings have been offered thus far. "Other than this, we extend invitations to children in need to participate in events associated with collaborative endeavors." In addition to ensuring that children appreciate horseback riding, these activities are crucial for scientific monitoring of our children. Our institution, Atatürk University, is committed to fostering a more secure future for our children through the implementation of hippotherapy training at our facility. Our goal is for our children with special needs to enjoy themselves while receiving care from our arena's expert trainers and horses. We would like to express our gratitude to our esteemed rector, Professor Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, for his invaluable assistance throughout the projects and activities that we undertook.
