While Atatürk University took place in five of 17 titles in the 2020 and 2021 results in which it was included in the Impact Rankings, this year, as an indicator of its strong determination to address global issues through teaching, research and strategic partnerships, it was included in the rankings under 11 more titles and managed to take place in a total of 16 titles.

While the number of universities included in the Impact Rankings, which evaluates the performance of universities under 17 SDG titles with data based on more than 100 criteria and more than 200 measures covering teaching, research, access to society and the management of their own resources, has increased every year, there has been a 26% increase since last year. This year, 1,406 institutions from 106 different countries took place in the general ranking.

Atatürk University, which is in the 101-200 band in the Quality Education category, 401-600 in the Healthy and Quality Life category, and 201-300 in the Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure category, despite the increase in the number of participatory universities, as in previous years, SDG 3, SDG 4 and SDG, has maintained its position in the world ranking in 9 titles.

Stating that Atatürk University has continued the habit of constantly being included in THE Rankings this year, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı reminded that many organizations use different criteria to measure the performance of universities and that different criteria affect the rankings.

Rector Prof. Dr. Çomaklı: “We Turned Success into Culture”

"One of the most important duties of universities is to produce solutions to the problems of the age. As the Atatürk University family, the researches and social responsibility projects we carry out are an indication that we offer solutions to problems at the international level, and as a result, we have been among the leading universities of the world in THE Impact Rankings for the last three years. With the Research University mission we achieved last year, we will resolutely continue our efforts to find permanent solutions to the problems faced by the world.” Çomaklı said.

“Our Strong Determination to Achieve a Sustainable Future Continues”

Rector Çomaklı stated that the success in the Impact Rankings is an indicator of Atatürk University's efforts to create a sustainable future for the world and that the university is moving in the right direction: “The role of universities in sustainable development takes place through teaching, research, governance, partnerships, engagement and policy making. Atatürk University's strong determination to reach a sustainable future continues with the studies it carries out in many fields. The Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, are an urgent call to action for all developed and developing countries to achieve a better and more sustainable future in a global partnership. It covers global challenges, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. I would like to thank all our academics and students for the work done in these areas and the success we have achieved in THE Impact Rankings, and I wish their success to continue to increase.”
