ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY IS IN THE TOP 10 IN TÜBİTAK - 1001 PROJECT RANKING

Scientific Evaluation Results of 2021 2nd Term 1001 Projects of the Research Support Programs Presidency (ARDEB) within the body of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) have been announced. Accordingly, Atatürk University ranked 7th among state universities and 9th among all universities. Again, 6 projects were evaluated within the scope of development.

Atatürk University, of which 6 projects were accepted within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1001 Project, in which 228 projects of 78 universities were entitled to be supported, succeeded in being among the top 10 universities.

Many Criteria Are Considered in Project Acceptance

The output performance of the project coordinator within the scope of the previously supported projects, compliance with the priority area issues in the TÜBİTAK call planning and the increase in the Technology Readiness Level, projects directly related to the priority R&D and innovation issues within the scope of the Green Agreement Compliance were taken into consideration in the evaluation process while in the projects submitted to programs directly supported by European Commission grants within the scope of Horizon 2020 Program, criteria such as being a project coordinator on behalf of the relevant institution/organization,  multi-disciplinary/interdisciplinary projects, University-Industry cooperation and University-University cooperation created within the scope of the project proposal were effective in determining the projects to be supported.

According to the Scientific Evaluation Results of the 1001 Projects, the academics whose projects were accepted: Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food Engineering Prof. Dr. Mükerrem Kaya, Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry Faculty Members Prof. Dr. Hasan Seçen and Assoc. Dr. Bilal Nişancı, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Clinical Dentistry,  Assoc. Dr. Songül Cömert Kılıç, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education Department of Foreign Language Education Assoc. Dr. Ayşegül Takkaç Tulgar and Faculty Member of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Relations, Dr. Lecturer. Mustafa Tayfun Üstün.

Congratulating the faculty members whose TÜBİTAK projects were accepted with the support of Atatürk University Project Development and Coordination Office, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that they are trying to provide more opportunities by developing incentives to increase the number of projects and policies that support faculty members.

Rector Çomaklı stated: “The Scientific Evaluation Results of the 2021 2nd Term 1001 Projects were announced by the TÜBİTAK Research Support Programs Presidency (ARDEB) and 6 researchers from our university were entitled to receive support within the scope of these programs. As a university, we carry out our studies with the aim of being a research-oriented university that produces universally qualified scientific knowledge, carries out R&D activities, produces technology, transforms it into patents and presents the science it produces for the benefit of society. With the new projects developed, we aim to go higher than the current ranking,"
