ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY AND ERZURUM TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY COLLABORATE ON MODERN AGRICULTURE
In order to further the agricultural development of the region, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu of Atatürk University and Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak of Erzurum Technical University have signed a significant cooperation protocol.
The protocol, which was ratified under the host of Atatürk University, governs the utilization of land under the jurisdiction of Erzurum Technical University with contemporary agricultural methods, as well as the execution of collaborative research, production, and demonstration studies within this context. Internships and thesis studies that will facilitate the academic research of students at the Faculty of Agriculture at Atatürk University will also be implemented as part of the collaboration.
The intended studies on the allocated land will be organized by the Atatürk University Plant Production Application and Research Center in accordance with the protocol. Additionally, a specific percentage of the product income received will be used to support the collaboration. This process will result in the convergence of the scientific and technological resources of the two universities, which will serve as a model for the contemporary agricultural practices of the region.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, during the protocol ceremony, declared that the collaboration will fortify the bonds between universities and promote regional development objectives. Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak asserted that this initiative will expand the scope of agriculture and underscored the significance of scientific collaborations and sustainable agriculture.
