With the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project carried out within the framework of  New YÖK Vision, Atatürk University has added a new one to the studies and innovations it has implemented. Following the Strategy Plan, Quality Management, Performance Management System, Award and Incentive System, Assignment Promotion Criteria and New Governance Model, developed and implemented in 7 layers with the New Generation University Project, it has now began the data-based decision making with the Academic Data Management System, developed in 7 layers.

Following the infrastructure works initiated at Atatürk University since 2018, the work that started with the establishment of the Data Management and Analysis Office in 2019 continues at full speed. Established to provide and process data required for corporate strategies, managerial processes and operational decisions, to design an online process for collecting and managing data in a single center, to prepare issue and problem-based reports for data-based decisions, and to provide visibility in international ranking organizations, Data Management and Analysis Office carried out many works in a short time.

In line with these purposes, the office grouped the requested information by examining the methodologies used by international ranking organizations in their ranking criteria. Determining the data systematics through joint studies with the units, it contacted ranking organizations such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higker Education (THE) and Round University Ranking (RUR) and uploaded the requested data to the relevant databases.

The Office also created documents for the policies and strategies pursued by determining the activities for the SDG in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and within the scope of University Impact Rankings studies. These documents are published on the SDG website, which is integrated with the SDG website and is available on the University website.

Data Management Office continues to work on new projects, which continues to work on the Design of the Digital System related to the Data Management System and Data-Based Decision Making Mechanism, consisting of the classification and collection of the data needed for the new generation university, the determination and collection of the data required at the national level, and the data management system preliminary studies.

Pointing out that although the Data Management and Analysis Office is a newly established unit, it has accomplished great things in a short time, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı expressed his satisfaction with the point reached.

Rector Çomaklı  emphasized the importance of the integration of theAcademic Data Management System with the Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar, developed by ULAKBİM, TÜBİTAK. Çomaklı stated that this situation plays an important role in increasing the recognition of the university and its lecturers. Rector Çomaklı, who said that loading the requested data into various databases enabled Atatürk University to rank higher among national and international universities every year, underlined that the work carried out is important, adding that Atatürk University is among the top five state universities, and he thanked all members of the university for their work.

Ataturk University, which finds itself in the top ranks on an important platform such as the URAP (University Ranking By Academic Performance) Research Laboratory 2020 ranking, continues to work at full speed to carry this success to higher levels.
